Excellent groomers and very friendly staff!
    My dog smells amazing afterwards!
They are reasonably priced and very good at following instructions.

Excellent! My german shepherd mix hates water and fears the bath...but once in a while it has to happen! We did the "self bathe" option and he was OK with it. The water is warm and the bath is elevated so you don't have to lean over like you would washing them at home. There is also a dryer so you can dry them off while they are still in the bath. Glad to have them in the neighborhood!
We parked on a side street nearby and walked over.

Love, love, love Darla's Dog Wash! I used to take my pup here on and off over the years because it's not close to home, but we've become regulars this past year. They do an excellent job and seem to enjoy what they do.

I did cheat 2x this year by going to a place much closer to home. Big mistake! It made me appreciate even more of how much of a great job the staff at Darla's does with my Pomeranian mix.

There was a short period when the vet required my pup get bathed with a special shampoo BEFORE getting a regular bath. Darla's went with the flow and did what needed to be done.

They're mindful of my little guy's tricky hips, and he always trots out happily with his fur shiny and bouncy.

My cat hates it there. But, Darla's does a great job with her, too.

I always have a great experience at Darla's. I take my sweet litto Mimi (poodle mutt) there all the time and she always come out with a smile, which compared to other groomers, she comes out scared and withdrawn. They are quick and always accommodating. They also have DIY tubs for you to wash your own pup!

I'm so glad I found this spot. I took my dog for a regular wash. The gentleman left my pit nice and clean and smelling good! My dog never smelled that good. I'd been taking him down the street to Joy's in Echopark and my dog would still smell funky that I thought it was normal and just how dogs smelled but not at Darlas!! He was even shiny and they may have even trimmed his hair a bit. Idk but I was content. This is my new spot.

I've had my dogs groomed at many different dog groomers. Darlas is by far my favorite. I live in the Westside and feel it's worth the drive.

The glow up is real! Took our dog maleficent here on a Sunday. They are quick and always call you for updates. She was ready in 2 hours. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a dog groomer.

I posted a review in April 2018. Marcus and Javier have always shown how carrying they'd been of my bulldog Hudson. Now, in remembrance of Hudson's passing on May 3, I wish them to know how much he loved them. Please carry him in your hearts.

10/10 my dog mimi looked incredible after I came to this place. Workers are nice and do a good job.

Its a great place to shower your dogs.. Besides is cheap, you get to choose if one day may want to self wash them. The employees are friendly. You can leave your dog and get a phone call to pick them up once their finish..

Been taking my 8-yr old English Bulldog, Hudson, for weekly grooming at Darla's since moving to LA from NY last September. Marcus is the manager and is the best groomer for your dog! He loves animals, is attentive and very professional. My daughter-in-law also uses Darla's since her days living in Silver Lake. Lastly, location in residential Atwater affords a calm walk for your dog before getting groomed. I highly recommend Darla's for your pet.

I've taken my dog to many different groomers and most of the time when I picked him up from those other places he seemed traumatized or in some cases sedated without our permission. But Darla's Dog Wash is clearly different. Whenever I pick him up from Darla's he seems pretty relaxed and is even wagging his tail. Clearly the staff know how to treat dogs so they don't end up freaked out by the experience. This is important to me. They also do a great job of grooming him, complete with a little bow. I love this place. Thank you for treating Chico so well.

Darla's Dog Wash never fails me or my pom-mix Shad! I am always able to get her right in without any problem! They do tend to keep her there for about 2-3 hours but considering the fact that I have never made an appointment and I am usually a walk-in that's a great turn-around time! On top of the full service grooming, Darla's also has a self serve bath option where they provide the tub, shampoo, towels and hair dryers.

  • *****

I have walked by them countless times! My dog was all sticky from chasing some critter around under the fig tree. I dropped her off and had her back an hour later fresh and clean! They were super sweet, reasonably priced and professional. I'll be back.

Love the self wash! We stopped here for a quick wash. They provide towels, apron, and shampoo. They assist you with what you need, very friendly. For the price, it is definitely worth it and more affordable than most "self wash" in the area.

    Dear Darla's Wash,

My name is Princess Beyonce and my mom brings me in once a month for grooming.

I want to thank one of your groomers for noticing that I had an infection in my ears because had he not told my mom about the infection, the Vet said it would have gotten very bad and difficult to treat. Because of his perceptive eye, I'm getting treated and better every day.

My mom and I LOVE everyone that takes care of me and we will always come to Darla's.

    WOOF WOOF!

    Love, Princess Beyonce

Took my high strung pup here for the first time today and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The woman I checked him in with was very attentive to both of us. My dog seemed like he did pretty well with it all considering he rarely goes to the groomer and is kind of a weirdo. She was happy to update me when I called to check up on him halfway through and he was a shiny happy doggo when I picked him up.

The dummy got skunked the night before and the nature's miracle stuff kinda worked but left a discoloration so a thorough scrubbing seemed in order. There's still a slight skunk smell where he got sprayed (it takes a few baths to get rid of it completely) but otherwise he smells great!

His coat is so soft shiny and clean now! I wasn't expecting the lovely little trim he got on top of the bath and it felt like they went above and beyond for a very reasonable price. Also, all the pups in the place seemed very chill and happy. Definitely coming back!

I'm giving Darla's three stars and not 4 or 5 because the lady that owns Darla's or is Darla is a complete nightmare. She can be combative and rude but the grooming my Bijou gets is phenomenal.

Bijou is a 2 year old Maltese and anyone who knows anything about the breed knows that they come with their own divalicious behaviors and meticulous grooming needs.

I've taken Bijou to many groomers over the last 2 years and Darla's is the only place that seems to get it right. Bijou comes back perfectly coiffed from his face to his toes and tail. He is fluffy for days.

They do not brush teeth but they do do the rectum, shampoo, cut and style. They might not ask you what you'd like but make sure to tell them/her. And don't cower, she can smell weakness.

Like I said, the customer service needs definite work but they have always been attentive to the pets. You may also use the self-wash station for only 10$. The prices are listed in the store and it does pay to haggle!

edit: nevermind the 3 stars. im giving darla's 5 stars. my dog always looks like such a hot bitch after every grooming. its been consistent enough for me to say that they do an amazing job!

  • *****

They have reasonable prices and do a good job usually on my now 8 month old shih-tzu. No complaints so far!

  • *****

We've washed our dogs (via self-service) here for years--my profile picture is Walter in one of the tubs. Darla's is a great operation that gives you exactly what you need at a fair price.

Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful, and clearly loves dogs.

It's great to have this place nearby. It's the easiest and cheapest way to get an 80-lb dog clean in 30 minutes or less, and it's really kind of fun.

  • *****

Been a customer for 8 years and have never been let down. Reasonably priced, kind to my crazy pooch, and they do a great job brushing off the ridiculous amount of fur from my shedding beast of a dog!

  • *****

Very cheap (for what they do), very reliable. I have a little maltese poodle, and they always do a great job with her haircut and never overcharge me.

My dog seems to be running a flea convention on her body, but they always seem to take care of the problem!

Furthermore, they are always willing to let you take your dog in last minute .

  • *****

I'm a totally believer in not paying someone to do something I could do myself, so when I finally gave in and spent money on dog grooming, I chose to do it myself anyway. This place was awesome! I am never using the hose in the backyard again.

They provide a raised tub with temperature adjusted spray, choice of soap, grooming tools, apron, towels, washing leashes to hook the dog in, and an industrial-strength dryer, (be prepared for that). They had a ramp and helped me get my seventy-five pound big-head dog in and showed me where I could leash my forty-five pound little-head guy off to the side. No one was looking over my shoulder making me feel rushed or wrong and when we were done the gal spritzed both pooches with something that smelled clean and fresh, not like perfume.

The dogs coming out from the back all seemed happy and stylish, and I spent over an hour there without once hearing a raised or frustrated voice... and they were packed!

Best of all, both dogs were on the cusp of pricing and because we'd been patient and the gal was in a good mood, she charged us for the lower end rather than the higher. All in all, I'm a huge fan.

  • *****

Thank you Darla's Dog Wash. I take my dog here monthly for brush out, bath, nail trim. He's out in a couple hours looking great and very clean at a reasonable price, even when they are really busy. I value an owner who is there all the time and makes sure everything is done right.

  • *****

I loooove them!!!! The guys are so super friendly and when they have a question they always call me to ask me about the style of haircut I prefer. It's very refreshing. Two dogs done in 1 hour and 20 minutes is amazing service to me!!!

Great customer service. They treat my pit bulls like its theirs . Very friendly and organized . I love the little detail they add at the end . 2 little bows , one for him and one for her

I've been taking my fur baby Zeus Marley to Darla's since 2012 when he was 5 months old. The team at Darla's are always friendly, honest with what they can and can't do for Zeus, and are always extremely kind every time we visit. Book ahead of time as their weekends can be a bit busy. I get the full service for Zeus each visit and it's never overpriced compared to other local washes.

Zeus is always happy and wagging his tail with excitement every time we go. It gives me peace of mind knowing my fur baby is happy and comfortable with the handlers.

I've posted a photo of Zeus, a maltipoo, minutes after walking out of Darla's Dog Wash. He was given a sweet Halloween themed bow and smelled like heaven. :)

I've taken my dogs here twice and was very pleased with their wash and cut. The grooming was timely and my dogs looked great. They seemed happy afterwards. I would definitely come back.

I've been bathing my dogs here for years. I like the deep tubs, clean towels, great water pressure and especially the kindness and expertise of the guys who work there. They really know how to connect with the dogs and make them as comfortable as possible. I've never been great at trimming my dogs' nails, so after I wash them, I hand them over to the pros and am never disappointed. Prices are reasonable, especially if you're washing your own dog, and there's plenty of street parking.

  • *****

Darla's is great. My dog got skunked the night before, right in the face, it was terrible!!! I washed him a couple of times and nothing worked. I called Darla's. They got me in right away. They were kind, attentive and sweet to my dog (and me). AND they got the smell out. My dog didn't seem to mind the entire process. He was scared of me after all that hassle the night before with the skunk and bathing several times but he seemed to enjoy the people at Darla's. They did the whole deal, washing, trimming nails, that anal squeezing thing at a reasonable price. I will definitely use their services again.

I brought my husky and chihuahua in close to closing and the owner still let us in! The self wash is perfect, with a walk up ramp my husky used, hypoallergenic soap, blow dryer and towels. The owner is extremely helpful and showed me how everything worked and gave my dogs treats afterwards! Huskies are very expensive to get groomed /washed but it was under $20 for him, and I was able to get him much cleaner than I can at home! I'll definitely be back!

Beautiful dog salon. My dog looked great and was very happy when she was done.

I used to take my dog to woof on Glendale Blvd.... He would whine and lay down (120lbs of dog) and would have to be physically taken in to be bathed. He doesn't like baths so I always thought that was the issue until I found him stuck I'm a crate far too small for him at woof... Anyway, started going to darlas as I feel like having a groomer bath him in warm water is better for a pup who already hates baths than a garden hose. He walks in here without a problem and always leaves looking very handsome. Happy to trust my baby boy to them for a few hours!

  • *****

Great prices! Great work! I used to go to Petsmart and my boys would be crying and my corgi got soap suds which ended with a trip to the ER Vet. So I was scared to try a new place. But I don't regret it. The groomers are such nice people. I highly recommend this place!

  • *****

    Best groomers...best price!

My husband is very particular about the way groomers cut our dogs face. They always seem to make him look super crazy and never listen to what we want. But Darlas listened to what we asked and did it just right. Very friendly service and they obviously love dogs! Highly recommended!

  • *****

I will definitely continue to take Chingu here for as long as I possibly can!
Not only does he smell like baby powder two weeks after his bath, he is happy after having left the groomer! The people who work here are super professional, friendly and caring.
I will come back for sure!

Hands down the best dog grooming/wash place in so cal. Been coming here for years and it's the only dog wash I can trust. Highly recommend Marcos for grooming, My dog is really aggressive and he somehow finds a way to get it done. Prices are great and service outstanding!!

    Darla's Dog Wash is GREAT!!!
Well, phooey on the boo-hooers about this place! Let me tell you,.... my girlfriend has been bringing her dog, Auggie-the-doggie there for years. And one day I saw the Augster all freshly groomed and shaved and I thought, WOW, he looks GREAT! So, I asked where she takes him and she said Darla's and raved about how great they are! So....... I decided to put them to the test and took in my 92 lb. bundle of joy, Selena, who has a THICK orange coat with a double chin's worth of fur around her neck AND a lot of extra fluff around her tush, and to my surprise they shaved the neck/chin area, the whole body and her tushy off perfectly evenly and she looked like a fresh little PUPPY even as big as she is. THEY ARE GREAT! Very nice, but very busy, so CALL AND SET and appt. ahead of time. You won't be disappointed. SELENA was SOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY afterwards cuz now she had a fresh coat with no thick hair for the summer and nothing to shed. She truly acted like a little pup for mos. thereafter! So, I GIVE DARLA's a HUGE THUMBS UP!!!!! Pros: GREAT friendly service! Cons: Busy, busy, busy... so make an appt. ahead of time.

Darla's has the grooming expertise, friendly staff, and most of all, a love for animals!
I love Darla's Dog Wash! It's the only place I've found that offers exceptional grooming services at a decent price. My dog comes out of there looking like a movie star every time. Darla's is not just any old grooming place, it is a place run by good-hearted people who love animals. The owner has more than once helped me find homes for dogs and cats that I had found on the street, she is a wonderful woman. Darla's breaks the mold when it comes to grooming places, I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else! Pros: A definite thumbs up! Cons: Very busy, make appts ahead of time

    Your dog will love it
I go there with my doggies for many years (more than 7 I think). People who work there really know what they are doing. Most important they love their ""clients"". And this is important, at least for my dogs, because they really sense people around them. I never thought about going other places. I've actually became friends with some other customers, since we've being clients there for so long. I just want to support this good business place and people working there. Pros: Good service. Shopping area.

    a first-time satisfied customer
i called around first to see where to take my newly adopted dog. darla's seemed to have reasonable prices, were very informative over the phone, and i was able to make an appointment for the same day. we arrived and were taken in right away, the owner was so glad that i had saved a dog from the pound and talked to me a little about the new shelter laws, etc. she seemed a very compassionate woman who loves animals. she told me how when she moved to the US from Russia, she had brought her dog with her! My dog was ready in 2 hours and came out sparkling clean and happy. They had also brushed out a load of shedding hair! The bow on the collar was a nice touch. I will definitely go back to support these good people and good business. Pros: kind people, love animals, easily accessible location

    Darla's is a great place!
I was impressed with Darla's when I took my baby maltese there for a wash and brush. He is just a puppy and his hair was tangled beyond belief! So I figured they'd wash and brush out all the knots. When the owner looked at the tangles, she said it would be better if I came to the back and stood by his side while he was being brushed. So I went back there, and as the groomer began to brush him, I saw how bad the tangles really were. The groomer told me that to brush them all out would be very painful for my puppy, and suggested that it would be better to give him a haircut. I don't want my baby to be in pain (of course) so I agreed. I thought I liked his hair long, but I actually really loved how he looked after his cute cut. It was adorable! I'm glad that the owner invited me to the back and took me through it all, I think it says a lot about the integrity of the business in general. I'll definitely be back! Pros: A big thumbs up

    Awesome dog grooming spot!

I had just rescued two dogs from the shelter in downtown and Darlas was the only spot that accepted a walk-in on the spot.
Tatiana, the manager, was already busy washing two other dogs but she was ready to accept both of mine. She groomed the bigger dog, but she also instructed me how to wash the smaller dog at the self-grooming station.

The staff at Darlas is super friendly, but they also do a great job grooming.
Plus Tatiana gave me 50% off the total fees for both dogs because I had just rescued them.
    Great experience, highly recommended!

They did a great job with my Mal she was actually loving her bath she came out running and happy well worth the wait. Will be coming back here often.

  • *****

Very welcoming and friendly. They did a great job with my Sheila. I was hesitant with other groomers in the area because of there yelp reviews and pics. But Darlas had the highest star rating, so we went to them. Thanks yelp and thank you Darla's Dog wash.

  • *****

Just had my 3rd visit here for cut and wash and I will now be only coming to Darla's. Both of my dogs have been groomed exactly as I requested and done in a timely manner and the prices are very reasonable. My maltese mix has an autoimmune disorder and his nails are very sensitive and difficult to cut and the groomer did an excellent job. I also appreciate that they have given me last minute appointments and been very nice when I have re-scheduled at the last minute due to my hectic work schedule. Thank you for taking such good care of my dogs!!

  • *****

I have a very difficult dog to groom. He has major separation anxiety and was badly abused before I adopted him. It makes going to the vet and groomers traumatic to say the least. My dog screams and bites when he's scared.

That being said I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I walked in without an appointment and they immediately were able to get Scrappy in. They took me into the back with my dog to try and keep him calm. Tatiana was AMAZING!! She spoke to my dog in a calm soothing voice and took her time with him. (He hadn't had his nails cut since his last vet visit 6 months ago). Scrappy is very difficult and they handled him with easy. I will definitely become a regular and can't express how thankful I am.

  • *****

I wash my own dogs at Darla's. Their raised tubs, shower hoses, blow dryers and supplies make it very easy. They've recently remodeled and everything is even nicer than before. I have two dogs. I let the groomers at Darla's do my dogs' glands and nails. They do a great job. Fair prices. The best part about Darla's is the a la carte service. If you just want your dog's nails done, they're happy to do it and that's all you pay for. Other groomers will only do a full package deal which can cost a lot more.

  • *****

I have been going to Darla's for years. The same groomers have been there, they always know my dog by name and they do a great job. Also they have these tubs that you can wash your own dog for about 15 bucks. So much better than chasing your dog around the house and leaning over awkwardly in the bathtub. I was just there and they did a really nice renovation. The whole place when from a little grungy to spa fabulous. Plus they give my pooch always gets a little doggie biscuit at the end!

  • *****

I'm only giving 4 stars because I love this place (it's super clean, they do a great job, they are fast even on walk ins some days, and you can't beat the price anywhere at least in this neighborhood)~ but my pup ( who had been here about a dozen times) cries whenever I take him, and tries to run the other direction when we are so much as passing the place on a walk. Bath time isn't really his favorite thing at home either, and he hates cages so that might really be it~ otherwise I recommend this spot.

A friendly place that does a great job
I've been to many dog salons with my terrier mix Estrella. She is a rare mix, and her hair seems to grow in all directions, making it hard to give her a haircut that would actually complement her features. We came to Darla's, we just walked in, didn't even have an appointment and they were able to take her right away. In 3 hours she was returned to me as a pretty clean dog, with an adorable haircut! She looked like she could be a toy. We were very pleased with the service and the pricing didn't sting. We'll be back there again and again!

This was my very first time. After passing this shop, many of times. I needed to wash my Chiquita.  Since, I haven't been able to do at home.  Due to water drought and my back always hurts afterwards. I decided that Saturday was going to be the day. I was greeted by Darla, she walked me through how to use the equipment. I Had a delightful experience. I will definitely be back!!

Review from Yelp I took my dog KC in this morning looking super dirty! Even tho she doesn't get along with any one they were still able to give her such a nice bath, cut her nails, the whole 9 yards! She looked sparkling when I picked her up! :) I am a very happy costumer! I've taken her 3 times before and they never let me down so far! I am planning to take her at least 3 times a week to make sure she stays clean.... Thank you For having so much patience and care with my German Shepard!

I love Darla's Dog Wash.....it's been 10 years that I bring my babies here for grooming. I have 3 chihuahuas and I can always count on the staff to take good care of them all.
From washing your own pet yourself in their own bathtubs, to their personal grooming your pet, to manicures to your pet.....it's always an amazing experience for my dogs!!!
    Thank you

We have been taking our dogs to Darla's, since they first opened.  At the time, our cocker mix Max, didn't like being groomed.  The groomer, Tatiana, took  time to get to know Max and made him feel comfortable.  She was the only groomer who Max & Sadie liked going to.  Currently Ella & Sophie enjoy being groomed by Tatiana and her staff.  They do a really good job. They always make sure to keep my girls together in the same  cage so they always feel comfortable when they are there.  I recommend this place to all my dog owner friends.

This place is right next my work,
I brought my little French bulldog here yesterday for the first time. They did a great job with her. Trimmed Her nails did her glands, A good wash. Even put a bow on her leash. All this for 27 bucks good deal!

  • *****

I went to Darla's for the first time today.  My pup's nails were not only butched at another pet store but when I asked if they could file them so he wouldn't cut himself or me, they said it would an additional $9 bucks.  Not at Darla's.  Here, we had an amazing experience.

I told the owner my dog DID NOT like to get his nails cut especially after the last bad experience.  So the owner held him right by the entrance to the back room so he could see me the entire time.  She comforted him as another groomer clipped his nails and gave them a quick (and free!) file.

I was soooo happy with this experience.  I've never seen my dog wag his tail after getting his nails clipped - we'll definitely be back.

Darlas dog wash is where I've been taking my pets, Nastya, Simon and zmei to be washed, groomed and taken care of for the past years. It's very neat, clean and the workers are always friendly and reassure you that they will do their finest work. I wouldn't want my pets to be groomed by anybody else.

It is a very friendly, clean and reliable place. We go to groom/ wash our cat Kapa for 3 years already. Even though we live in North Hollywood , we prefer to spend an extra 1/2 hour drive and come to Darla' s instead of anything in the Valley because at Darla' s its very safe and hygenic. I would really advice this place to anybody.

I have been coming to Darla's for quite a while now. The people who work their really friendly and do their best to give what you ask for. As soon as I bring my German shepherd Roxy in, Marcos and Javier ( two of the friendly groomers who work there) greeted me and asked what I wanted. Something new or the usual, I replied with the usual and when I came to pick him up, she looked splendid in her clean and neat trim. They even added a red little bow to her collar to make her look more aesthetically pleasing. The facility is clean and over time improvements have been made to improve  cleanliness. Darla's is also really flexible. They do their best to accommodate to your schedule. I suggest appointments, but even as a walk-in I have been greeted warmly and ready to take my dog in for her bath and cut. Darla's Dog Wash is definitely a great place to take your pet!!

I've been to Darla's twice now to self-wash my german shepherd puppy (65 pounds) and both times have been a great experience.

The owner (the Russian? lady everyone keeps mentioning) wasn't overtly welcoming, however she was very cordial and accomodating in helping me get my puppy up the ramp into the bathtub, then helped me set my puppy on the floor after the blow dry. I brought my own shampoo and she was completely fine with it. She offered my puppy a treat at the end while I paid, but puppy was too distracted by the hottie dogs coming in to care.

The self-wash option provides you with an apron, two towels, shampoo, brush, and warm water and a blow drying hose. The air from the hose was a little cool and I would have preferred warmer air but perhaps this is best since warm air can burn a puppy's skin.

If you come here expecting 5 star service, acting like you're the only customer in the store, then yes, you will be the reviewer that logs on to yelp to write up a 1 star review.  Otherwise, just go in, just tell her what you need to do (if its your first time, let her know and she'll walk you through how to use everything).

Metered parking is in front. There is also a "buy 11 get 1 free" card.

I LOVE Darla's.  The price is right, especially when you consider the highway robbery over at joints like K9 Loft, and the grooming is excellent and I've always found the staff to be helpful and totally cool.  My dog looks and smells amazing when they're done with her and they often can take her on short notice.  Huge thumbs up.

Ive been going to darlas for years.  One.. because its super close to where i love and 2 the staff there is super nice and always willing to squeeze in my dog roscoe. ( a 6 year old Cairn terrier)

Reasonably priced...  excpetionally good groom job  and i get my dog back within an hour or 2... and  always a delight to deal with the staff.
Theyre very attentive with his special shampooing needs as my dog is super sensitive to almost all shampoos and always pay attention to detail.

I will continue to take my dog to darlas.. i love them and i  know my dog digs em too...

overall RAD!  5 stars please.. and welll deserved!!

HAPPY DAY! My long search for a groomer is finally over!

The women at the front desk that everyone doesn't seem to like was wonderful... the staff was absolutely great and my lil poodle got the best haircut she has ever had!! All of this for the lowest price I have ever paid!

Hands down five stars... don't waist your money going to places like K9 loft or tailwashers where you get a mediocre/horrible cut... Darla's is AMAZING!!

I've been taking my dog to Darla's for about a year, and I'm so glad I found this place! They always do a great job making my pooch look pretty, and the prices are well below other groomers in the area, including Petco. Aside from the owner, who can be a bit brusque, the staff is very friendly. They even remembered my dog's name the last time I brought her in. Even the owner has grown on me, by the way. She's just a no-nonsense kind of lady, and I respect that. She is always nice to the doggies. The other thing I love about Darla's is they almost always will allow me to bring my dog that day. No need to make appointments way in advance. In short, stop paying a mint to get your dog groomed and take him or her to Darla's. They rock!

Just got my dog a summer cut and wash here.  Rates are very reasonable and service was good.  I could see how this place can be unorganized at times, like the other reviews have said, but they got the job done and my dog should be more comfortable in this weather.

Darla's usually does a decent job on my little dog.  But you must be specific when telling the groomer what you want done.  My dog seems happy to be in the hands of the groomers here and always comes back clean.  Pretty consistent for the price.

Just got back from my first visit to Darla's & I had a great experience!  I was a little nervous about possibly meeting the rude lady a few reviewers have mentioned, but luckily she was not there.  I dealt with Marcos who was warm and lovely and my dog Quinny liked him too.  Quinny, (a Corgi), was in and out in an hr and 15 min, she looks beautiful (with a pink bow - lol!) and they only charged $32.  I will definitely go back, but I think I will only go when Marcos is there.  :)

Great for bathing your own dogs...always go on a Monday and it is nice and quiet. Everything you need is provided : Elevated Tub, ramp if needed for dog, leash, warm water, shampoo, plastic and soft hair brushes, two towels per dog and air hose with warm air.
Have two dogs, 40Lbs and 80Lbs, takes me nearly an hour to wash and dry them and costs $36.00 for both.

    Great for Huskies!
I've been bringing my 4 huskies here for many years. They do take a while, but when I bring them 2 huskies at a time, well I can't blame them. They always come out great, very beautifully combed through, all the undercoat out. I even moved out of the area, from Eagle Rock to Woodland HIlls, and I still make the trip just to take them here. I've tried other places that try to charge me $70-100 per husky and it wasn't as good. Very happy with this place, I will always bring my huskies here. I don't know how they do with little pooches who need uber delicate salon haircuts, but if you have a dog with the coat like a husky (akita, malamute, etc) then this place is great. They charge me $45-60, depending on how bad they're shedding.

Just brought my dog home from another great grooming experience at Darla's! I've taken her there for the past three years and have had a great experience every single time. I remember the second time I took her in, the groomer exclaimed, "Donna!" I thought it was sweet he remembered my dog. She's always excited to go there.

Sometimes I wait a little too long between visits and she is slightly matted. I feel guilty, but they are always so nice about it and she still ends up looking perfect for a very reasonable price. I've never met the owner, just the two groomers who are always there on weekday mornings. They are very kind to me and my dog and they are really good at what they do!

The lady I really nice and also gave me some advice on a holistic vet in Burbank to try help my little ozzy :)

I have been taking dogs to Darla's for over 8 years.  My chow (now deceased) and my current dog (a lab/shepherd/pit mix) were fearful of strangers but instantly took to the guys at Darla's.  The service is great and their prices are good, especially for this area.

I've been going to Darla's for several years.  My late dog Joe had a skin condition for several months and needed a weekly bath with a medicated shampoo.  (Did you know that there are only 2 certified animal derm. in LA one in Marina del Rey and the one I went to Dr. Warner in Toluca Lake, a great Dr.!, and I'm a nurse so it takes a lot for me to say someone is great).

Anyway, back to Darla's.  When I took my Joe in, I could hear and see how the animals  having services in the back were treated.  All the staff was VERY kind to the animals; Tatiana, Javier, Marco, & others.  Which is much better than my local dog wash place where I first took Joe after I got him from the pound and they took him back behind a door I couldn't see and the groomer was wearing a leather glove!

So my "new" dog, Holly is also going to Darla's but I leave her there for the staff to do, just like I did for Joe after his skin problem cleared up.  Holly came from a breeders where there were 14 dogs and she just didn't get enough human attention.  And I think some it might have been mean treatment sometimes as she cringes when she sees a broom or stick.  Holly has gotten much better emotionally in the 2 1/2 years I've had her and is trained in all the basic commands.  She is not nervous going to the back and comes out happy, so I know she is well treated.  In fact for her first groomings I waited in the shop so she wouldn't think I was leaving her.

Holly is a duck retriever, which looks like a small red golden with white accents and a red nose.  Although I was groom her and get so much hair off of her that I could make a chichawawa (sp?)  So although I prefer a long coat, she is in LA and needed a summer cut.

The dog I picked up, didn't even look like my dog, it was a beauty makeover!  The fur was trimmed short and her feather tail was left.  I am so pleased with the cut, and know the dog will be so much more comfortable in the heat.

For the few reviews with complaints, you have to understand that you need to apply common sense, don't leave your animal long, be ready to pick them up promptly!  Everyone has cell phones, so there should me a minimal time that the dog would need to be a cage.  Or better still wait and bring something to do.

I love Darla's and recommend it to all my friends.  If you follow my advice you too will have a great experience!

    Dog lover!

My experience with Darla's Dog Wash?  Top-drawer.

Last week was my first visit to Darla's, highly recommended by two neighbors whose dogs always look good.  I stopped in to inquire about grooming service for my Maltese-mix, Caspar.  Marco was helpful and answered my questions clearly and completely.  The facility was clean.  I made an appointment for the following day.
Caspar and I arrived ten minutes early for our appointment.  Marco greeted us and took a few minutes for Caspar to become familiar with him.  Marco said he would be ready in two hours.  He was ready sooner than that.

When I picked him up, Caspar looked gorgeous:  clean; a perfect hair cut; and, very importantly, a thorough, professional sanitary trim.  (Caspar's previous groomer could never get the sanitary trim right.)   The blue bow on his collar was a nice touch, too.

Tatiana, the owner, greeted me, handled the bill and payment, and alerted me to a possible issue with Caspar's ears.  She was friendly and helpful--and Marco and she left me feeling like a valued customer.
